1/18/24 – This is an original 1944 dated K98 bayonet with an original matching numbered scabbard. The bayonet is in great overall condition, with an minty condition blade. The blade retains most of the original finish with some light scabbard rub wear and no signs of sharpening along the edge. The base of the blade and scabbard are marked “44pyy” and “6793f”. Light patina on the pommel and hand guard, and a nice original grip. The scabbard has light scratches and patina throughout, but no dents, most of its bluing remains, and fits the blade nicely. Both the tip of the scabbard and pommel at inspector marked “WaA519.” Overall this is an excellent example.
