Description
8/31/23 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield Model 1903 issued to the US military in 1911. The barrel is Springfield marked and dated 1916. This one has been sporterized for competition shooting: the rear sight was removed, an adjustable Lyman rear sight was added, the stock was either modified or replaced (the upper handguards are original), and a checkered butt plate was added. The metal parts have retained about 90% of their finish with minor muzzle wear, some scratchy wear on the floor plate, and minor discoloration on the receiver. Excellent wood furniture. Mint bore.
