Description
4/27/23 – This is a nice example of a Danzig Gewehr 98 issued to the Imperial German military in 1915. It is mostly matching, but the bayonet lug and stock are mismatched. The butt plate was blued and re-numbered to match – a sign that it may have gone to an arsenal. Proper Imperial military proofs throughout. The gun has lost most of its finish with obvious wear throughout. Most of the metal parts show signs of very light pin-pricking. Some discoloration here and there. Very nice wood stock that appears to have been sanded and lacquered. Comes with a nice leather sling. Excellent bore with great rifling.
