Description
10/3/23 – This is a nice example of a scarce Enfield No 4 Mk 1* made by Savage. These guns were manufactured in the US during WW2 to assist England as a part of the Lend-Lease Program between England and the US. These guns are “US Property” marked and have US military flaming bomb and “P” proofs. All matching with an “FTR 53” marking on the receiver, indicating a factory repair in 1953. The black enamel finish on the metal parts rates somewhere between 85-90% with general high edge wear and small chips and scratches in the finish throughout. The wood shows typical signs of wear and use. The bore has good rifling, but there is pin-pricking in the grooves.
