6/2/23 – This is an excellent example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. All matching with the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. The frame and slide have a phosphate finish and the barrel is blued, giving the gun its iconic dual-tone finish. It has retained about 96% of its original finish with minor thinning on the front strap and hints of wear around the muzzle and on the high edges. Some small dots of discoloration on the phosphate partstypical for these finishes. Fitted with excellent period-correct black plastic grips and comes with a scarce late-war “U” marked magazine. Mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
