Description
2/10/23 – This is an original M1921 Mauser “Bolo”, manufactured in ~1921. The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, imposed restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Mauser began manufacturing a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale with shorter, 3.9 inch barrel. The pistol is all matching, including the grips. The original blue rates at about 80-85% with thinning in most areas and some patina on both sides of the barrel and receiver. There’s also a minor ding/indent on the right side of the magazine well but it doesn’t appear to affect function. The bore has strong rifling but a little frost throughout.Very nice fire blue is still present on some of the small parts.
