Description
2/2/24 – This is an original Ethan Allen & Co. antique shotgun. This shotgun has two 27 & 9/16th inch fine stub twist barrels. Those barrels have remnants of the original finish but are now covered in spots of honest wear patina with no rust or pitting. Both barrels have light pitting throughout but are otherwise reasonably clean; we rate the bore a 7.5/10. The receiver has some darker discoloration on the bottom section and the trigger guard and underside of the tang, with no heavy corrosion. The shotgun opening mechanism is called a hinged breach and works similarly to a Snyder rifle. The ejector is actuated by pushing the trigger guard forward, pushing the shotgun shells forward enough to pull them by hand. All of the photographed serialized parts match except for one piece (See Photos). Small details of ornate engraving can be found on parts of the receiver. Excellent wood throughout with a nice diamond checkering pattern on both the forend and stock.
