Description
11/3/23 – This is a nice example of a BYF 42 Mauser K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is all matching, but some of the small parts are not numbered. The stock is matching-numbered and has the proper waffen proofs. The bluing on the metal parts rates roughly 25% with obvious finish loss and spotty oxidation throughout. The wood furniture shows the typical signs of wear and use – minor dings and scratches throughout. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with tiny pitting in the grooves.
