Description
8/6/25 – For sale is a French Model 1840 Percussion Musket made at St Etienne in 1842. Many of these muskets would be sent during the US Civil War. The metal is has patches of old oxidation and patina. The stock shows bruises and handling marks, but is free of any cracks or major breaks. There is a deep scratch behind the tang, butit is not a crack. The bore is fairly bright. There’s “J. Sabot” stamped on the bottom of the stock. The right side has the French acceptance Roundel.
