03/23/26 – For sale is a Winchester Model 1897 chambered in 16 Gauge and made in 1942. Commercial production of shotguns would drop significantly with the ramp up of WW2 and Winchester would shift production for the military. This shotgun is equipped with a 30″ barrel with a modified choke. The metal has a nice bright bluing with surface scuffs. There is some marring on the front of the receiver where it meets the barrel. There are spots of finish loss from old oxidation on the receiver. The barrel joint and magazine tube band have lost the bulk of its finish. The bore is bright. The wooden furniture is in great shape without any cracks.
