Description
6/3/26 – Between 1921-40, select rifles were produced at Springfield Armory for National Match shooting competition. Production barrels were measured with star-gauges, and those meeting specified tolerances were stamped with an asterisk shaped star on the muzzle crown. Such is the case with this one. It also has an electro-pencil numbered bolt, checkered butt plate, and is fitted with a Lyman adjustable rear peep sight. The sight is not correct for a National Match however. The serial number on the receiver dates to 1927. The barrel is Springfield marked and dated 9-27. The metal parts show very little finish loss, and the wood stock is minty. No marking in safety well. Mint bore. Comes with a leather sling.
