10/7/24 – This is a fair example of a K98 dress bayonet made by Carl Eickhorn in WW2. The blade on this bayonet still retains some of it’s original nickel finish on the blade. The blade on this bayonet has been significantly sharpened. Despite this sharpening, the blade overall does maintain it’s original profile. The scabbard for this bayonet retains some of its original black paint, but does have finish loss and patina.The scabbard also has a dent towards the bottom, but this does not effect the functionality of the scabbard.There is a frogon this bayonet, however the leather is worn and is missing stitching in several areas.
