Description

This Le Creuset tagine from the Signature collection is made from solid cast iron, with a ceramic lid. A decent, top-quality pan that will last for generations. The tagine is suitable for all different heat sources, including oven, induction and all-electric stoves. Keep in mind that the lid becomes hot when used in an oven so make sure the condensation does not return into your dish. Obviously the cast-iron pan can also be used for dishes other than tagine.

The tagine comes with a practical instruction manual with some user tips and recipes. This way you immediately make a head start with your tagine.

What is a tagine?

From the North African kitchen, the tagine has made the transition to our own kitchen. The tagine is a cooking pot with a very high lid, with a kind of chimney. Condensation constantly falls back into the bowl during preparation. Because of this, the food will always taste amazing. Meat, fish and vegetables can be prepared in a tagine. Also great: you can serve the food in the dish!

Kitchen utensils

For this pan, Le Creuset recommends using silicone spatulas, which you can purchase at a discount as a combi-deal when purchasing this pan. You could also use wooden spatulas, but metal spatulas are out of the question.

Clean the pan before use and dry it properly. In addition, always select a fitting heat source to match the base diameter of the pan. When using a gas hob, make sure that the flames cannot spread around the sides of the pan. The flames should only hit the base. Also don’t immediately place the hot dish under a cold tap, this could damage it. Make sure it has enough time to cool off. This pan is dishwasher safe. However, please note that frequent dishwasher use could affect the enamel finish.

Le Creuset Signature: cast-iron pans
When you think of Le Creuset, you will probably picture their cast-iron pans. The pans in the Signature collection will provide cooking fun for generations to come. These pans are suitable for all heat sources, including induction and the oven.

Advantages of cast iron
Cast iron distributes the heat from your hob or oven excellently, so the food in the pan cooks very evenly. Moreover, cast iron retains heat very well. This combination of properties makes this pan perfectly suitable for stews. A cast-iron Le Creuset pan is also excellent for baking bread!

And did you know that you can also use such a cast-iron pan for cold food? It retains temperatures in general, heat but also cold. Chill the pan in the fridge or even in the freezer to keep salads cool during a summer barbecue!

Enamel inner layer
These pans feature a rock-hard enamel layer. You can compare this to a layer of hard glass. It’s very smooth, hard and durable. On the inside of the pans, this enamel layer is often beige/light brown. On the outside of the pan, you can choose from almost all colours of the rainbow. Le Creuset is known for their brilliant colours. There is a suitable Le Creuset colour for every interior and every kitchen.

Lifelong warranty
The quality of Le Creuset pans is reinforced by the excellent warranty conditions. A lifetime warranty to match the exceptional lifespan of these great pans.

Tips for using a cast-iron pan
A cast-iron pan has a lot of great features, but there are also some things to keep in mind. For instance, make sure you don’t heat it up or cool it down too quickly. The booster setting on your induction hob, or the big gas flame on an ice-cold pan? Don’t use it! It’s also better not to put your Le Creuset pan under an ice-cold tap straight from the cooker or oven. That temperature difference can cause damage to the pan.

Furthermore, the top edge of the pan and the bottom edge of the lid do not have the enamel coating. On this line, corrosion could occur (in theory). We therefore recommend lubricating the edge with a drop of sunflower oil after washing. You can simply use your finger. This will prevent rust or discolouration.
