9/12/24 -This is a rare prototype M7 bayonet made by Colt Armalite for theM16/AR15 rifles. This bayonet maintains the M4 style blade of the M14 and M1 Carbine bayonets. The right side of the blade on this bayonet is marked “COLTÄôS-62082 ARMALITEHARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. PATENTS PENDINGÄù.The marking also has the trademark Rampant Colt logo. The left side of the marking on the blade is stronger than the left. The blade on this bayonet maintains almost all of its finish, with just the slightest thinning in the high spots from standard scabbard wear. The blade has never been sharpened and maintains it’s original edge. The M4 style latch at the back of the bayonet is still functional and the springs are strong.The scabbard for this bayonet is also in great condition.
