1/14/25 – For sale is a Winchester Hotchkiss First mode repeating rifle chambered in .45-70. The rifle is in good condition overall. The metal has lost the bulk of its finish and is down to bare metal. There are spotting of oxidation and patina but no pitting. The trigger and trigger guard have a coating of surface oxidation. The stock is clean but has been light sanded sometime in the past. The proof marks are feint on the wrist. The bore is bright with great rifling. Ther are 2 hairline cracks about 1/2″ in length on each side of the upper tang.
