8/6/24 – This is a fairly scarce variation WW1 era production holster. The holster is sized for a 7.65mm Sauer or Mauser pistol from WW1. The holster features great condition pebble grain style leather and all original stitching. Next to the closure strap on the front leather is a maker and date stamp, “1915 Franz Herrmann -Erfurt- 1915”. The marking is crisp and easily visible. The leather shows an outline or “shadow” of having previously held a pistol for some time. Mild surface cracking on the back belt loop, but this is mild surface wear. The holster measures approximately 18cm long and 12cm wide when closed. Brass closure stud. All original stitching is intact except for about 2 loose stitches along the top seam, but this doesn’t affect functionality or structural integrity. Overall a great condition example, especially given its’ age.
