Description
6/23/23 – This is an original WW1 US Trench Fighting Knife. The knife is in great overall condition and comes with an original scabbard. The three-sided pointed blade is in good condition with no signs of sharpening or abuse, but there is natural surface wear and finish loss throughout. Most of the finish has worn off as a result of age, and there is speckling dark surface patina throughout. The hand guard is maker stamped and dated, with most of the original blued finish still intact. There’s dark patina mixed throughout the finish. The wood handle is excellent with no cracks, chips, or markings, and has distinct finger grooves. The scabbard is maker marked and dated, “JEWELL 1918”. There’s dark patina throughout the metal fixtures on the toe and mouth of the scabbard. The dark green leather body is in great condition considering its age.
