Description
8/22/23 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is “United States Property” marked with the proper “Eagle Head S16” acceptance proof. There is an “AA” marking on the left side of the frame, indicating it was reworked at the Augusta Arsenal. WW2-era High Standard barrel. The entire gun has been re-blued, so the finish is nice. Very little actual finish loss – very minor muzzle wear, some tiny scratches on the front strap, and some spotty discoloration on the back strap. Fitted with mint wood grips and comes with a post-war magazine. Mint bore.
