4/26/24 – This is a “42 Code” Mauser K98 issued to the Nazi military in 1940. It is entirely matching and has the proper military acceptance proofs throughout. However, the barrel band spring is missing, and the front end of the stock has been duffle-cut. The finish on this gun is fairly rough with heavy spotty oxidation throughout. The wood stock shows the average signs of wear, but there are a couple of more noticeable gouges on the underside of the butt stock. Excellent bore. Comes with a period-correct sling.
