4/18/23 – This is an original, rare variation 1944 hard shell P.38 holster. These are rare because most 1944 P.38 holsters were made in the soft shell style. The back of the holster is maker stamped, dated, waffen proofed, and P.38 stamped. The maker code is weakly struck, and mostly the “g” is visible, but the rest of the stamps are crisp and clear. The leather is soft with normal pliability and typical use / aging wear throughout. The leather is wrinkled with surface scuffs throughout the exterior, but no major issues. Fairly clean interior leather. The stitching is all tight and original, except for a few missing stitches on the lid, as shown in photos.
