8/4/23 – This is an excellent example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The serial number on the receiver dates to 1952. Springfield-marked barrel dated October of 1953. There are DOD proof marks on the barrel and on the left side of the stock. The metal parts have retained nearly all of their finish with very minor scuffing on the floor plate and one small dot of discoloration on the breech bolt. Very nice wood stock with only minor bruises and scratches. More noticeable dings on the upper handguard. Mint bore. Muzzle reading: 2. Throat reading: 3.
