3/25/25 – For sale is a Gewehr 98 made by Amberg in 1917. The rifle is well worn and needs some TLC. The metal retains a nice blued finish but there’s a layer of patina and patches of old surface rust on top. The stock shows plenty of dings and wear but no cracks or breaks. There is an un-repaired duffel cut below the rear barrel band. The bore is bright with strong rifling but there are patches of oxidation at the crown. The rifle is mismatched throughout. Note: The rifle should be looked at by a gunsmith as the barrel is not seated all the way against the receiver and likely needs to be tightened a few rotations.
