Description
5/10/23 – This is a very nice example of an Arisaka Type 99 rifle issued to the Japanese military. It is all matching and has a completely intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. It has retained roughly 90% of its finish with wear around the muzzle, around the high edges in general, and some thinning on the floor plate. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, the bluing is dull with brown patina under the finish throughout. Heavy brown patina on the butt plate. There is no major damage to the wood, but there are obvious signs of heavy use throughout. The bore is shiny with strong rifling for the most part, but there is some light spotty oxidation in some of the grooves.
