7/21/23 – This is an original WW2 production Japanese Arisaka Type 99 rifle. The rifle is has all matching numbered parts and is in original condition. We rate the finish around 75% because although there is not very much finish loss, there’s mild brown speckling surface patina mixed throughout the finish. The metal also shows typical wartime production machine markings and general roughness to the metal. The wood stock is in great condition with typical small bumps and bruises throughout. There’s some very mild chips in the wood near the rear barrel band, but otherwise no notable flaws. The bore rates 8/10 overall with strong rifling and some mild surface wear and patina within the grooves. Mechanically sound. Comes with an original cleaning rod as well.
