7/26/21 – This is a beautiful Colt Government Model 1911 that was made in 1948 and later custom engraved.The metal surfaces retain 99% later-added hard chrome finish and have been intricately-engraved with lovely flowing scroll and punch-dot shading covering about 70% of the surfaces, these embellishments further-accented with a dark ink background.The engraving work is beautiful and high quality but it is not signed.The smooth dark walnut grips with gold Rampant Colt medallions are excellent.The front strap and flat mainspring housing have been modified with crisp checkering, and the barrel bushing is a later-added Micro.The firing pin stop is a blued replacement.Bore has good rifling but some frost throughout.The mag is just a blued postwar example.
