8/14/25 – This is a very nice Smith & Wesson .38/44 Heavy Duty Revolver from late 1954-early 1955. It has a blued finish, 4 inch barrel, and checkered Walnut grips. It comes with a period-correct gold/blue box (the numbering is very faint and not legible). The gun’s finish rates about 92% with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, some wear along the left side of the barrel, and some minor dulling on the back strap. There is a very faint “circle B” electorpenciled on the butt of the frame. Minor bruising on the bottom edges of the grips. Mint bore.
