1/13/25 – This is an example of a British Egypt Medal from the 1880’s. These medals were awarded to both British Army and Navy personnel who were involved in the 1882 Anglo-Egyptian War and the Sudan. Those soldiers who took part in the 1882 campaign in Egypt received this medal with the 1882 date below the Sphinx on the reverse of this medal. Undated versions of this medal were those awarded for service in Sudan, this example being an undated version.This medal includes its hanger, the hanger is in fair condition with some tears as well as a hole from where it was mounted. This medal is identified on the edge to a Private W. Barmingham of the 1 Yorks Regiment.
