Description
6/24/24 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1848 Baby Dragoon, manufactured in 1849. Chambered in .31 Caliber with a 6 inch barrel. This revolver has the scarce and desirable early features that include: small square trigger guard, cylinder with rounded stops and the roll-engraved Ranger and Indian scene. The barrel lug has no provision for a loading lever. It is all matching and in nice condition for its age. The barrel and cylinder show honest “attic patina”. Some case-hardening still visible on the frame. Period-correct wood grips – very minor bruising. The bore has good rifling, but there is light surface rust throughout. Fully functional. No FFL required.
