4/17/24 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military during WWI. From the included Colt Factory Letter, it was shipped to a United States Government Commanding Officer on June 4, 1917. It comes as a complete rig with a 1917-dated leather holster (with lanyard), canvas belt, canvas magazine pouch, and three period-correct two-tone magazines. The gun’s original finish rates somewhere between 85-90%. There is minor thinning on the grip straps and small dots of discoloration with tiny pits covering most of the slide. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and has a proper “H P” Colt barrel. The bore has great rifling with minor frosting in the grooves.
