2/3/24 – This is an all-correct example of a Springfield Model 1903 Rifle, issued to the US military in 1912. The serial number on the receiver dates to 1912, and the barrel is Springfield marked and dated February of 1912. The stock is “P” proofed and properly “JFC” inspector proofed. The original bluing rates roughly 75-80% with most of the wear on the receiver and floor plate. Some minor pitting on the receiver and spotty brown patina on most of the parts. Minty wood stock. Excellent bore with good rifling. Comes with a 1918-dated leather sling.
