3/30/23 – This is an original K98 Dress / Parade bayonet by Carl Eickhorn. Interestingly, the hand guard is inscribed “RFV”. We’re not sure the significance of this, other than perhaps this was for the Reich’s Finance Ministry. The blade is excellent and clean with a shiny nickel finish. No signs of sharpening and maker stamped on one side. Leather stopper is still intact. Excellent handle with strong diamond grips. Mild patina throughout the pommel and hand guard. Comes with an original black painted scabbard that’s in excellent overall condition.
