10/8/24 – This is an excellent condition WW2 German Army Officer’s Dagger. The dagger comes with an original scabbard and portepee, and is maker stamped on the blade by F.W. Holler. The dagger blade has beautiful cross graining and almost no discoloration, save a few minor specks of oxidation or dark discoloration. The blade shows light scabbard rub wear, but even this is minimal. The biggest flaw on the blade is a small area of roughness along the edge, near the base. See the last photo for a close-up of this area. The hand guard and pommel retain traces of original blued finish, with natural patina and high edge wear throughout. Excellent burnt-orange colored handle with no cracks or chips. The portepee is excellent with minimal fraying and some light handling wear. The scabbard has no dents or issues, and also retains some of the original finish. A high-end and very clean example overall.
