9/18/20 – This pistol belonged to General James Ferguson of the U.S. Air Corps.He served as the air power for Patton’s Army and is mention in David N. Spires book (see photos).General Ferguson organized and commanded the 405th Fighter-Bomber group in 1943 and took it to Europe.He later became an Air Force instructor.The holster has his name written on the inside (Col. at the time) and some other information (see photos).The Mauser P.38 is in good condition, with about 95% of its finish remaining.All parts are matching and it has an excellent bore.Serial dates it to July of 1944.Good mechanics, including de-cocker.
