7/9/26- For sale is a German Nazi era Kripo warrant badge. The Kripo, short for Kriminalpolizei or “Criminal Police”, were the German national detective force during the Nazi era, similar to the FBI. The disc was the officer’s identification and, in a totalitarian police state, also their warrant to search or inspect anything they wanted. The disc is made from stamped brass. One side has the Nazi eagle and swastika while the other side has the words “STAATLICHE KRIMINALPOLIZEI” and the badge number 5055. The badge has been authenticated by an independent expert. There is light surface wear and patina but no serious damage. Overall in very good condition.
