Description
7/29/24 – This is an excellent example of a Sauer 38h issued to the Nazi police force during WW2. All matching with the proper police “Eagle C” marking on the left side of the trigger guard. This is an early variation with a high polish finish and a checkered magazine release. Its original finish rates about 96-97% with just minor muzzle and high edge wear and some spotty oxidation on the back strap. Fitted with period-correct black bakelite grips. Mint bore. It comes as a rig with two period-correct magazines and a generic tan leather holster. We acquired this rig directly from the son of the man who captured it at the end of WW2. He wrote and signed a letter detailing his fathers’ military service during WW2, how he was injured in battle, and how he came to own this piece of history.
