Description
10/24/23 – This is an original Type 30 Japanese rifle bayonet from WW2. The bayonet is made by Hoten Arsenal, as indicated by the maker stamp on the base of the blade. The blued is blued and unfullered with excellent finish throughout. Some mild finish loss but no major issues. Straight crossguard and bird’s head pommel with normal, light surface patina but most of the finish remains. The contoured wood grips have a few small chips, dings, and imperfections, but no major issues. Comes with a nice cone-tipped metal scabbard that has light browning patina throughout. Includes leather frog as shown, along with a helmet decal and spare buckle (likely from the broken strap on the frog). In Labar’s book page 207: LB-170.
