Description
6/1/23 – This is a nice example of a Mauser C96 Broomhandle issued to the Imperial German military during WW1. Chambered in 7.63mm Mauser. It is all matching and has an Imperial proof on the right side of the slide. It comes as a complete rig with a high quality reproduction 1918-dated leather harness, original cleaning rod, and a matching-numbered wood stock. We believe the stock is original but it has been heavily sanded, and there are a couple of significant repaired cracks and a filled-in hole on the top edge. The gun itself has retained roughly half of its original finish with obvious thinning throughout. There is spotty wear along the underside of the barrel and some splotchy discoloration at the back of the frame and on the grip straps. Areas of light spotty oxidation here and there. Fitted with a set of replacement wood grips. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
