6/11/25 – For sale is a Gewehr 98 made by JP Sauer in 1917. The rifle has very light surface micropitting throughout the barrel and receiver. The receiver is still in the white. The barrel has an aged blue finish that has browned over. The muzzle area has finish loss from the back of the front sight base towards the crown. The stock shows wear and age, but is free of any cracks or breaks. The proof marks are still visible. The bore is still fairly bright with strong rifling. The rifle has matching numbers throughout but the bolt assembly has been renumbered to match the rifle.
