Description
7/7/24 – This is an original Kriegsmarine High Seas Fleet Badge by Rudolf Souval. The badge is one-piece die-struck zinc with gold gilded finish around the outer wreath and eagle. This finish has mostly worn away, with traces found within the grooves of the wreath and Eagle’s wings. Great details throughout and most of the wear is honest surface patina. The reverse is “R.S.” maker stamped, and has the correct style pin, hook, and hinge. The hook is soldered tombac (non-magnetic), while the round wire needle pin and steel barrel hinge are magnetic.Measures about 55mm tall and 44mm wide. Though worn, this is a textbook example.
