7/14/25 – This is a great example of an M42 German helmet. The paint is an apple green with scratches on the top and sides of the outer dome. There metal is in outstanding shape with small freckles of patina on the outside dome and still has all of the split pins intact. The interior of the helmet contains the steel banded leather and the leather liner is still soft and malleable with very minor surface cracking at the rim where it meets with the steel band. The helmet’s chin strap is no longer connected and has broken off from the helmet. The buckle remains intact. Stamped lot 5151.
