Description
10/17/23 – This is an original 1937 dated K98 bayonet with a matching numbered scabbard. The bayonet is maker stamped by Elite-Diamant, which is a fairly scarce maker. Also rare on this bayonet is the Kriegsmarine stamped leather frog. The frog is in great overall condition with a maker stamp, 1937 date, and Kriegsmarine eagle stamp underneath. The bayonet blade is in near-excellent condition with very nice bluing throughout and a few small areas of discoloration. No signs of sharpening along the edge. The hand guard and pommel have some mild surface patina. The scabbard is in great shape with a small dent and a few imperfections, but fits nicely.
