6/12/23 – This is an all original Mauser 1871/84 rifle made by Amberg Arsenal. This antique rifle is chambered in 11mm and still retains the original finish and all numbered parts matching. These rifles are scarcely encountered in this condition with about 88-90% of the metal retaining the original finish. Most of the finish loss is found on the receiver and bolt assembly, which has a natural patina and light surface wear but no rust or pitting. The barrel and metal underside / trigger assembly has dark surface patina mixed within the original finish, and natural aging wear throughout. The wood stock is Imperial proof stamped with a few light surface imperfections but no cracks or chips. Mechanically sound with smooth function and a clean bore. The bore is shiny with nice rifling and rates 9/10 overall.
