Description
6/6/24 – This is a minty 1944 Mauser P.38 rig with a beautiful dual tone finish. After Mauser began phosphating major subassemblies, they continued to use up their current inventory of blued components. The mix of these parts resulted in distinctive blue/gray (dual tone) combinations. Production of this variation is estimated to be 27,250. This example has retained virtually all of its original finish, with just a bit of high edge wear and a couple light surface scratches on the right side of the slide. There is some very mild pitting on the left side of the muzzle, but no actual finish loss. A couple spots of discoloration on the front strap, and one on the top of the slide. Bore is stone mint. Magazine release is a little tight. Functional de-cocker. Fitted with an excellent set of black plastic grips. Comes as a rig with a shoulder holster, which is in good overall condition besides for some black discoloration on the back, and two total Mauser magazines.
