01/08/2024 – This is a clean example of a Late War Type 99 Arisaka made at the Nagoya Arsenal. This a 8th series rifle and is when rifles started becoming more and more “Last Ditch.” The rifle production was simplified further by removing the adjustable rear sight, monopod and lug, wooden butt-plate, simpler bolt handle and safety. This rifle still retains its Imperial Mum but is mismatched. The bore is dark but retains sharp rifling. The rifle comes with a Type 30 bayonet made at the Kokura arsenal.
