09/10/2024 – For sale is a Portugese Mauser Vergueiro rifle chambered in 8×57 Mauser. The rifle uses a Mannlicher bolt derived from the Gewehr 1888 and Mannlicher-Sch??nauer along with a Mauser style magazine. This rifle was updated prior to WW2 to the 04/39 spec which rechambered the rifles from 6.5×58 to 8×57 Mauser and a vent hole was drilled into the side. The rifle is in good condition overall with the metal turning grey and dark with age and most of the original finish worn away. The stock is in great condition without any major blemishes. The rifle has matching numbers throughout. The bore is bright with good rifling but is starting to turn darker at the muzzle.
