3/19/25 – This is an original ZF 4 scope issued to the Luftwaffe during WWII. The scope is stamped with a large “L” for Luftwaffe, “GW ZF4,”serial number 45211, “ddx,” and a triangle which would have originally been either blue, green, or white. The scope is in great overall condition, though there is some light wear on the exterior surface. There are a couple small areas where the finish is thinning or mostly removed, likely from a mount it was previously attached to. The optics are pristine, and the markings are crisp. From records, we know that a large percentage of ddx scopes between serial numbers 38,000-62,000 were issued to the Luftwaffe to be used with FG42s, and specifically calibrated for optimal performance.
