12/31/24 – This is a very good example of a rare Frankford Arsenal Demonstration kit for the .30-40 Krag. This kit contains examples showing the progressive stages in the manufacture of the U.S. Caliber .30 rifle cartridge shell, bullet and primer. The U.S. Caliber .30 cartridge in 1900 is what we refer to today as the .30-40 Krag round. This kit is a rare look into the manufacturing practices of the Frankford Arsenal prior to the adoption of both the short lived .30-03 round and the more well known and long lived .30-06 cartridge.This kit comes in its original cardboard box and still retains its original paper label. Additionally the cardboard box is protected by an outer wooden box, as seen in the photos.
