8/15/24 – This is an excellent condition, WW2 original Tropical German Afrika Korps Tunic. The tunic features a machine applied DAK sleeve eagle on the left arm that’s in excellent condition. The shoulder boards both have red piping for artillery unit designation. However, one of the shoulder boards is black on the interior for SS, while the other is olive green on the interior for Panzer. Despite this, both shoulder boards are verified as originals, and both are desirable variations. The tunic has excellent tan twill cotton with almost no fraying or staining. All of the buttons are original and retain most of their original olive/tan colored paint. Interior pocket buttons are intact and original as well, although the right interior pocket button has one small hairline crack (doesn’t affect fit or functionality). The only ink stamps visible on the tunic are “579” depot / distributor stamps. Excellent stitching throughout. The left breast pocket shows evidence of having once displayed awards, but they have since been removed. Overall an excellent condition example and pairs well with other Deutsches Afrikakorps memorabilia. Verified as original.
