Description
10/16/24 – This is a very nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these were made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45’s. This one is matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” military proofs. It comes as a rig with an excellent 1942-dated hard shell holster (name scratched onto the back) and one proper “Eagle 135” proofed Mauser magazine. The gun has retained about 92% of its original dusty blue finish. There is general high edge wear, muzzle wear, very minor thinning on the front strap, and some light spotty oxidation on the left side of the slide. Fitted with blackish-brown bakelite grips. Excellent bore with great rifling. De-cocker is functional.
