5/20/21 – This is an all original example of a rare and highly desirable Colt M1911 that was manufactured in 1913 and issued to the U.S. Navy.Only 6,000 pistols were shipped to the U.S. Navy in 1913, and only ~18,000 produced for that branch in total from 1912-1918.This one is a genuine, correct example that appears to have truly been issued and carried by a serviceman in World War I.The pistol has a nice, honestly worn profile but the majority of the finish loss is on the straps and trigger guard, especially the back strap/grip safety.It has the proper and rare barrel with just a vertical ‘H’ on the back of the hood.The barrel has a strong, shiny bore and was well cared for.Very nice grips with no cracks or chips, just minor smoothing from handling over the years.Two-tone magazine in fair condition.
